Life gets a bit prickly sometimes. But there is always something to learn from it. Much as the centre of a thistle contains the nectar that the bee seeks.
Tree stump that takes the shape of a supplicating creature made me stop in my tracks the other day. It seems normal for us to seek out the features of faces all around us.The psychology of survival perhaps. Does anyone else see the same creature looking up towards the sky?
Nature’s invitation to the bee to dine is both sensual and divine. The delicacy and intricacy of a flower’s beckoning design flaunts itself in diverse and various patternings and forms. Without shame nor modesty the flower calls to the bee: ‘Come hither and feast. Through you our species will spread and prosper’.

Spawning seeds in abundance ~
Future life assuring.
Far from Africa ~
Sacred goose free to settle ~
And flaunt its beauty.
The Egyptian Goose is a native of Africa specifically around the Nile Valley and south of the Sahara. This goose was considered sacred in Ancient Egypt. It has become popular as an ornamental bird and is now found much further afield in Western Europe and the USA.
Oh pesky mollusc ~
Eating through vine leaf ~
Twilight after rain.
Cathedral high born ~
Stork chick feeds from mother’s beak ~
Nest litter discarded.
Vocal frog seeks mate ~
To share flies on lily pad ~
Must be keen and green.
Sweet shadow bird sings ~
Lingering in the twilight ~
Luring colour in.
Can we neglect the selfless honey bee? ~
Pollen collector from flowers and crops. ~
Tireless worker of the hive colony, ~
Performing a duty that never stops. ~
Mankind’s farming habits threaten the hive ~
Bee colonies lost to insecticide. ~
Landscape modified so bees cannot thrive ~
With bees in decline, mankind’s suicide? ~
But, ma nature has alternative plans. ~
She sends viruses, floods, storms and wild fire. ~
Over the planet her fury spans. ~
To revenge bee slaughter man shall expire. ~
Go each one and sow seeds in abundance. ~
Selfless be for planet and descendants. ~
